“It is very hard to make the argument that faith in supernatural forces could be a progressive development because the world is not governed by miracles. It is not governed by devine intervention. It is governed by the laws of nature and by human action. To the extent that our policies are driven by believes and things that do not exist they are unlikely to result in increasing human welfare.”
